NASA has officially selected Jeff Bezos’ company, Blue Origin, to lead the first of several planned lunar landing missions before the end of 2026.
The mission is part of NASA’s broader Artemis Program, which aims to establish a long-term human presence on the Moon.
The landing mission is expected to:
• Deliver cargo and technology to the lunar surface
• Test systems needed for future astronaut landings
• Support exploration near the Moon’s south pole
The south polar region is especially important because scientists believe it may contain large amounts of frozen water ice.
