Scientists analyzing new observations from the James Webb Space Telescope have identified what appears to be a previously unknown world hidden in the distant region beyond Pluto. Faint and difficult to detect, the mysterious object remained unnoticed until Webb’s unprecedented sensitivity revealed unusual thermal signatures and reflected light unlike anything expected in that part of the Solar System.
